A week after storms tore through parts of Central and Eastern Nebraska, at least one confirmed tornado touched down in South Central Nebraska. As that tornado made its way northwest, NTV's studio was in its path, however, Chief Meteorologist Tim Reith stayed on the air directing the news team to the shelter while updating viewers on the risk headed their way. At the time of writing this article, there are no reports of major damage, however, there are reports of high winds knocking a trailer over and flooding in Kearney that caused at least one vehicle's engine to stall. Viewers sent in images of golf ball size hail in Holdrege and varying sizes in other portions of the state. Tornado warnings are still in effect until 11:30 for Nuckolls and Clay Counties and more could be issued. |
